WCUH – Decant Buildings

The Whipps Cross University Hospital Decant Buildings project provides approximately 5,000m2 of new high-quality temporary healthcare facilities that were designed, procured and constructed in advance of the proposed redevelopment of the hospital site.

Due to the constraints of the congested site the buildings comprised prefabricated modular construction. These four storey buildings were located within courtyards between existing ward buildings. The top storey extended over the existing buildings, supported on a deck of transfer steelwork spanning between the existing buildings and the lower modules.
