Oncology Centre & St. Luke’s Wing

The construction of a new purpose-built clinical Oncology Centre at Cheltenham General Hospital to replace the existing facility.

The new Centre provides three floors of accommodation catering for all Inpatient, Day Care and Outpatient non-surgical Oncology treatments. Clad in masonry, the steel framed building was constructed on the footprint of the original facility.

The constraints of constructing within this footprint meant that patient access to the original Linear Accelerator (Linac) Bunkers had to be fully maintained throughout construction, which necessitated the provision of temporary access corridors.

The facility also incorporates new Linac Bunkers and the phased upgrading of the existing bunkers.
